Abdullah is a very kind student. He and his our Hani cooked dinner for us and some other Saudi students and we ate a dish (I forget the name) very common to Saudi Arabians made of baked chicken and yellow rice. We talked about religion in Saudi Arabia, how Christians are treated if visiting the country (as welcome guests, so long as they do not insult Islam or the Saudi King) and the Saudi secret police, who are similar to the USA's CIA or FBI and monitor potential political criminals and terrorist networks attempting to operate within the country's borders. Their advice, "If you see a black GMC SUV, you're done. You will be, as we say, 'on the other side of the sun,' which means that you will disappear forever." It was a fascinating conversation.
