ARZU TS#14

ARZU TS#14

Date/Time: 12/10/2015   2.20-3.20 pm (with Nicole)

Location: Nicole’s office

Topic/Skill: Conversation/ Holidays
I shared my thoughts about raising a kids with their native culture. We are thinking about getting a Christmas tree because my daughter asks for it. Since she is just four years old, we thought she can have fun and enjoy the holiday time.  Nicole’s approach for this subject was very valuable for me that she gave some examples from her friends. She said that there are also not very religious people who are celebrating this time of the year and they use “Happy holidays” or “Holiday Tree” expressions.

Feedback provided to tutee: When it comes to cultural differences, Nicole is very open minded which is very important for a language teacher.
