Feedback:
DoJun and I spoke about the dating culture in South Korea. He told me that a few years ago it was popular for partners to wear matching outfits. Although this is something that he does not like, and many people his age are not fond of, some people still participate. In Korea, when a couple wants to get married they have to be able to afford a house, the venue for their version of a wedding reception- which comes in at a minimum of $15,000, and if I remember correctly a vehicle. DoJun has had a girlfriend for 3 years and has not thought about marriage because of the high cost. Many couples live with their significant others before they get married because they can not afford to get married. At first these things seemed strange to me, but when I really thought about it, we do the same thing here. I explained the wedding culture in the states to DoJun. Through our discussion of differences in culture, he was able to practice his speaking and listening skills.
