Mary Phillips TS #8

Date/Time: November 23, 2015, 3:30-4:30
Location: Public Library
Topic/skill: Reading

Feedback provided to tutee: Many time she asked me for confirmation and then I either told her "right" or asked her if she was sure.  Normally, if she made an error and I asked her if she was sure about the answer she reconsidered and got the right answer.  Otherwise, I didn't really correct her pronunciation errors when she was reading.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: It was really difficult to find reading material she was interested in.  Because we meet at the public library I was able to pull a number of books from the shelves and switch them up when she lost interest.  She preferred reading very short passages which were easier to find on the internet than it on the shelves at the library.  She reads very well however and I've stopped searching for kindergarten reading material and moved to first or second grade reading material.
