ARZU CO#3

Date/Time: 10/26/2015    1.00-1.50 pm / Jasmine, Speaking Class (Level 1)
Topic/Skill: Pronunciation
Teacher Presentation: The teacher explained that when we speak, we move our tongue to make sounds. She gave some examples and explained where the tongue position needs to be in the month. She wanted students to repeat those words by putting their tongue in correct place and shape their mouth correctly.
Classroom Management: Since the subject is needed a kind of lecturing, the students were not looking very excited and enthusiastic at the beginning. Their interest was increased with tongue twisters activity.
Materials:  Whiteboard, computer
Student Participation: When she asked questions, very few students (16 students in the class) were volunteer and they were answering the questions. The teacher called one specific student 3-4 times who was not looking very engaged with the class.
When the teacher gave them tongue twisters, the interaction was increased and they had fun during this activity.
Feedback Provided: During the lesson, she corrected the pronunciation mistakes of the students.
Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: Fun activities help to increase the interaction and participation.
It is good to use google sometimes like showing the picture of a new vocabulary for better and easy understanding.
