Date/Time: 11/2/15 Ryan's Grammar Class
Topic/Skill: Quiz review, review for midterm, present perfect tense
Teacher Presentation: Ryan began the class by explaining the rubric for the upcoming midterm. During the entire class, he displayed today's schedule using the projector.
Classroom Management: Ryan walked around the room to observe students, take notes, and offer feedback. He spoke slowly and clearly to the students.
Materials: Whiteboard, quiz, projector, computer lab (downstairs), ball
Student Participation: The students worked together to review their grammar mistakes. The instructor encouraged them to talk to their neighbor.
Feedback Provided: Ryan mainly provided individual feedback as he walked around the room. He corrected their mistakes during the ball activity, but also encouraged the students to correct one another.
Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: I liked that Ryan timed each activity and displayed the time using the projector. This allows the students to effectively pace themselves. He also allowed the students to take a photo of their "beautiful mistakes". I think his use of technology is efficient and something I would like to do as a teacher. I also like his present perfect tense ball activity. I plan to make my lessons fun and interactive.
