Topic/Skill: Writing, Reading, and Listening
Feedback provided to tutee: For the first half of our session, Astin practiced writing the letters X, Y, and Z. I provided a tracing activity and helped Astin differentiate lower-case and upper-case letters. For the second half of the session, Astin chose a book from the library and we read the story together. I read the book as Astin listened. I asked questions to check his comprehension.
Lessons about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned the importance of striking a balance between learning letters and reading a fun story. I'm also learning time management and the importance of planning ahead.
