Feedback provided to tutee: I am tutoring Jun, a 10-year old (3rd grade) boy in Korea. Today I tried to ask about his day-to-day life and about school. He goes to a school near his home, and then after school he rides a bus to an English school that he also attends for an hour after his normal school day. I said that his English must be better than the other kids, since he lived in America, but he said the other kids lived in America too. So it sounds like it is a very advanced English class. I asked him what he does for fun on the weekends. He said he used to go to the park, but that it is too cold to go outside right now. He said he watches TV, plays with his brother, and eats delicious food with his family on weekends. I asked what kind of food they eat and he said, “Noodles.” I asked his to tell me about his favorite TV show and he said it is about a war. I asked which war, and he said it was a war with Japan. He said he likes watching dramas on TV and that he enjoys learning about history. Again, whenever I gave Jun a correction to his English, he seemed to reflect on it and assimilate it easily.
