Topic/Skill: Reading and Comprehension
Feedback provided to tutee: Young-Seo is a very good reader. Although she is only in 1st Grade, she chose a 4th grade level book for her to read! She reads aloud to me, and I ask her questions. This time I noticed that she did not skip that many words on the page.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that 6 year olds can get tired of reading. Therefore I learned that with young children it is best to interact with them in many ways. So, I tried to interact with her by us drawing pictures of what we read in the story.
Since it was Halloween, she was also dressed up in her traditional Korean dress. It was adorable. I asked her about her dress and she explained to me the different meanings.
