Topic/Skill: Reading, Math Homework (Speaking)
Feedback provided to tutee: Today Astin and I worked on his reading skills. We read a short story together and reviewed new vocabulary. I also helped him with his math and reading homework. We practiced speaking by counting aloud.
Lessons about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that reading in a new language requires a lot of patience (for both the tutee and tutor). I helped Astin sound out the words but also encouraged him to guess the new vocabulary.
