Mary Phillips TS #6

Date/time: November 16, 2015, 3:30 - 4:30

Location: Public library

Skill/topic: Sentence order, reading

Feedback provided to tutee:  Again, most of the activities I found online were self-scoring.  A lot of times she wanted to repeat activities until she got a 100%.  Although, many times, she received a 100% on the first try.  When she was reading, I only helped her with words that she had no idea how to pronounce.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: One thing I've been doing is changing activities when they don't seem to be working.  Either the activities are much too hard and confusing or they're too easy.  I think it's worked better when I stopped activities as soon as I thought they weren't working anymore and move onto to something new instead of trying to go ahead and finish them.  However, this means I need to prepare a lot of activities beforehand in case some of them don't pan out.
