November 13, 2015, Matthew and David
Their mother requested that I help them with their reading skills. Matthew was motivated to read if it interested him; however David said he did not like to read. I began drawing pictures of super heroes on my paper and they requested that I draw them Iron Man. I said I would draw it for them after they give me 10 examples of a noun, something they've been studying in grammar class. They happily complied. I drew them a picture and promised that if they did the homework I assigned them I would draw another picture that they want. I assigned 25 pages of reading from their AR books and a 10 sentence summary in order for me to draw them another picture. They agreed. Primary analysis is that they need to have more intrinsic motivation to read, I will try to establish this for them during our sessions.
