Today, I called Jun while I was traveling with my sister, brother in law, and nephew. Jun was able to chat with my nephew who is only 4 years old for a bit. It was precious to see the two of them communicating across the globe. This would not have been possible while I was growing up. Technology is an amazing thing!
I was happy to see that Jun was more focused than usual today and he wanted to work on speaking so I asked him a bunch of questions about family vacations. He showed me that he had earned a certificate for being on the honor roll. He was very proud and said that his family was going on a short trip to celebrate. He really wants to go to the beach for the day but he thinks that his family may only end up going to dinner.
Jun gave me a more expansive book review for Holes than he provided before and volunteered some information about another book he likes called Ratchett. I plan to grab a copy at the library this weekend and read a bit before our next conversation so I can have a more informed conversation with him about the books.
