For this session, I e-mailed DoJun a list of interview questions that he could prepare answers to. They were typical questions of an American interview. We went over them together and I made some corrections to his grammar. I had to clarify a few points to him because he did not understand the culture aspect of the question. His modesty rang true throughout the interview which I found quite refreshing. After we went over his answers together, we talked about the cultural differences of an interview in the U.S. and in South Korea. I learned from DoJun that interviews can be quite intrusive in South Korea. He was surprised at how informal some aspects, interest and hobby questions, of an American interview can be. Overall I think that by allowing him some time to prepare his answers he was able to keep the conversation flowing.
