This session we worked exclusively on reading comprehension practice with a little vocabulary learning. I had them read the first chapter (9 pages) and write 7-10 sentences summary. I asked them basic comprehension questions about what happened in the chapter and corrected their grammar together with them. Their consistent errors were capitalization at the beginning of sentences and minor spelling issues, most of which they were able to correct themselves after I asked them about the word. We defined 3 new vocabulary words and I taught them the basics of using contexts to infer meaning.
