Tutee: Young-Seo 3
Date/Time: Saturday, 7th November @ 1PM
Location: Northeast Branch Library
Topic/Skill: Reading and Comprehension
Feedback provided to tutee: We continued our book from last week. I've noticed that Young-Seo has become more interested in seeing me, however this time she was so excited that she started skipping words like the first time I met her.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Young-Seo's mother always brings me something to drink or eat. When I asked her why she gave me all these nice treats, she told me that teachers, parents, and kings are thought of on the same level in Korea.
For tutoring, I tried something different and wrote down words that I thought that maybe Young-Seo would not understand, then asked her to act them out or describe them after the chapter. I learned that this was a good way to keep her brain active since she is so young and active. At one point, we both did jumping-jacks to gain more "energy", I said, to finish one of the chapters.
