Will Stith CO #1
Date: 11/3
Topic/Skill: Grammar Foundations
Teacher Presentation:
The teacher started out with a quick review of the previous class. Then she gave out some in class practice on the past tense of the verb to be. Then she went over the basics of what a noun vs adjectives are.
Classroom Management: The teacher spoke very slowly and enunciated very clearly. The class was relatively well behaved so it wasn't too difficult to get the class to work.
Materials: We used small personal whiteboards to practice writing sentences which was good because it made correction really quick and easy.
Student participation: The students were constantly being called upon to share their sentences. The teacher assigned the students to write down four questions and then ask their partner the four questions.
Feedback provided: The class mostly was focused on getting the very basics of grammar so the teacher would consistently correct the students grammar mistakes though out the class.
Lessons on teaching you learned: To really focus on speaking very slowly and constantly reviewing the key concepts in a basic foundations level class.
