Jun seemed more distracted than usual today so we just started session talking about his math homework. He said he was feeling stressed because he would get in trouble if the homework was not finished by tomorrow. He told me he does not like school at all but he does have a ton of friends. I asked him what happens if he talks to his friends in class while the teacher is giving a lesson and he says they receive yellow cards. If a student receives 3 yellow cards in a class, they have to go stand in the hallway. Remembering my time in school, I would have loved to have been sent into the hallway to enjoy a break from class! I am curious to know if there is more to the consequence but will have to find out later. He wasn't telling!
To turn the focus to his English studies, we did some Mad Libs together which he seemed to enjoy. He did not want me to read the end result to him. He wanted to read it out loud to me. I could tell today that he was anxious to finish all of his school work (including this tutoring session) and focus on playing instead! I hope he had plenty of time for fun today too :)
