Mary Phillips TS #7

Date/time: November 18, 2015, 3:30 - 4:30

Location: Public library

Topic/skill: Speaking, conditional tense

Feedback provided to tutee:  I tried to correct any errors I heard as soon as she made them.  That was generally what we had agreed to do beforehand.  I would ask her a question, she would answer, and I would correct any errors that I heard.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I asked her before we started if she preferred writing down the answers or saying the answers aloud.  When I was looking for activities beforehand, I found a lot of writing prompts that were easily modified to become speaking prompts.  I think this activity was a lot of fun.  The questions were either pretty general (What would you do if you received a million dollars?) or pretty weird and specific (What would you do if your best friend joined a cult that worshiped cats?).  I think that for grammar practice, however, it was a little to repetitive.  Most of the answers fell into the same patterns.
