Matthew and David, child tutees 11/4/15
Our first meeting was used for needs analysis and their mother requested that both of them work on reading comprehension. I began our sessions (two 40 minute sessions, one with each child individually) by asking basic questions to get to know them as well as analyze them individually. During our conversation I drew superheroes on my note pages and each boy asked me to draw them something. I agreed to draw their request, but asked them to give me 10 examples of a noun and use it in a sentence (this is something they had recently covered in class). I also assigned 25 pages of reading from their AR assigned reading book with 10 sentences of summary in order to be able to ask me to draw them something for the next week. I'm reviewing the sentences they wrote for me during the session and will return them to them and review them together in our next session this week.
